- Konan CellChek XL Specular Microscope System
Simple to use
The CellChek XL specular microscope represents the latest in endothelial cell analysis, algorithms, and computer technology. Enhanced with auto-focus, auto-alignment, and auto-cell counting, the CellChek XL easily captures consistent, high quality images of the patient’s corneal endothelium using a patented method that identifies the position of the cellular interface.Powerful multi-point, analytic detail
The CellChek XL offers five fixation points for image capture at the center and four peripheral sites, allowing a more comprehensive look at the cornea. This is particularly valuable in cases such as keratoconus | corneal transplantations, DSAEK, CXL, or the presence of corneal dystrophies.Location specific data samples
Unique to the CellChek XL, the CellChek™ software automatically records the location from which the data samples were acquired. One strong value of specular microscopy is to be able to assess and quantify change in the cornea over time. Without location data, trending is simply not accurate or reliable.Advanced database features
Fully integrated database management system allows robust data mining and simplification of links to electronic medical records.Non-contact pachymetry
Using non-contact optical pachymetry, the CellChek XL provides corneal thickness measurements at all five data sample sites. Independent studies have shown this to be more accurate than traditional ultrasoundpachymetry.1The only FDA 510(k) cleared specular microscope (“NQE”)
Konan is the only company to have products FDA 510(k) cleared under “Specular Microscopes” Product Code NQE. Why accept anything less than the assurance of the FDA’s review for both imaging and assessment of the corneal endothelial cell layer, morphology of endothelial cells, and corneal pachymetry.
- Tomey SM 3000 Specular Microscope
Easy photographing using the touch alignment function. Simply touching the center of the pupil displayed on the screen centers the image.
You can then take photos immediately with the Auto Alignment and Auto Shot functions by lightly pressing the center of the screen and moving the measuring head toward the patient’s eye.Touching the eye display button automatically moves the measuring head to the other eye, so the patient does not need to move their face.
Serial photographs of 15 shots
15 shots can be taken in series and errors during photographing are reduced. In addition, the best image among the shots is automatically selected and displayed on the screen.Wide photographing range and 7 capturing positions
Our unique technology enables a wide photographing range of 0.25 x 0.54 mm and allows you to observe the endothelium over a wide range.
Photos can be taken at 7 points: the center and 6 peripheral points (2, 4, 6, 8, 10, and 12-o’clock positions on a 0 6 mm arc). Because there are many photographing points, you can select the point with the best conditions even when the cornea surface is irregular. The cornea thickness is also measured at the same time.Quick and automatic analysis of corneal endothelium cells
The software for automatic analysis is pre-installed, so images are analysed automatically without personal computers.Manual photographing is also available
When automatic photographing is difficult, you take photos manually using the power joystick.LED light source
A long-life LED has been introduced for the photographing light source instead of the conventional xenon lamp, which requires maintenance. Regular replacement of the lamp is a thing of the past.
USB connector for printer and LAN connector for PC
USB-D connector: Connected to a Pict Bridge compatible printer to print images of the corneal endothelium and analysis results
USB-H connector: Connected to a barcode reader or electromagnetic card reader to enter patient ID data. A digital printer may also be connected
LAN connector: After installing the “Data Transfer” software provided with the EM-3000 in your personal computer, inspection result files assigned a patient ID can be saved in the personal computer.

- Zeiss IOL Master Version 500
The ZEISS IOLMaster® 500 is the gold standard in optical biometry with more than 100 million successful IOL power calculations to date. With the new version of the ZEISS IOLMaster 500, you get a piece of cutting-edge technology that points the way to the future of optical biometry. Unique ULIB data set
Improving refractive outcomes
Any intraocular lens calculation is only as reliable as the lens constant it is based on. More than 40,000 sets of patient data created with the ZEISS IOLMaster are the basis of more than 200 optimized lens constants in the User Group for Laser Interference Biometry (ULIB) website – absolutely unique in the industry. Together with its one-of- a-kind distance independent telecentric keratometry and the exclusively integrated Holladay 2 formula, the gold standard in optical biometry helps you improve your refractive outcomes.
Markerless toric IOL alignment
The new Option Reference Image is the starting point of a markerless toric IOL workflow: an image of the eye is taken along with the keratometry measurement. Both, reference images and keratometry data are transferred to the ZEISS CALLISTO eye® computer-assisted surgery system. Finally, all data needed for precise and markerless toric IOL alignment is injected into the eyepiece of the surgical microscope from ZEISS.
Advanced measurement of challenging eyes
The true test of a biometer is its performance with challenging eyes. In denser cataracts, the ZEISS IOLMaster 500 achieves a measurement success ratio that is up to 20% higher than that of other optical biometry devices. Even with staphyloma, pseudophakic and silicone-filled eyes, the ZEISS IOLMaster 500 measures along the visual axis, yielding the relevant axial distance. And with its Haigis-L formula on board the ZEISS IOLMaster 500 is dedicated to myopic and hyperopic post-LVC cases.
The results of a meta-analysis of 28 published clinical papers covering more than 1900 cases show that the reported clinical outcomes for the ZEISS IOLMaster with regard to residual astigmatism “[…] exceed, or are at least as good as those using manual or automated keratometry.”
Toric IOL studies report excellent outcomes using IOLMaster keratometry.
Ease of use
A well-designed user interface, plausibility checks, distance-independent measurements and an up to 4 times faster reading compared to other optical devices lead to a one-of-a-kind usability and reduced chairtime. A difference you, your team and your patients will notice every day.
